Carl and James give in to the Beast, and feed on the party-goers. As they ponder on what they did, Father John Marrow appears. He offers them to ask the many questions they have, and together they reach his Church.
There, he explains that they've become Vampires, Kindred, and that it is very unusual that their "makers" are nowhere to be found. While they discuss, another Kindred arrives, Alexander, a loyal servant of Augusto Vidal, the vampire Prince of New Orleans.
Alexander brings them to meet the Prince, who suggests they return to the place of their Embrace to look for answers. At the park, Carl senses a strong feeling of desperation and remorse, leading him to a nearby graveyard, where Alexander is investigating rumors of vodoun practices.
James and Carl enter the graveyard, and find some traces of blood and flour, materials often used in vodoun rituals. The blood spatters lead to a stone graveyard. Before they can open the monument, they're attacked by two gang-members looking for money, but James dominates them and feeds on them.
Inside the coffin, they find some plastic bags containing female clothes, and a cell-phone. The phone rings, and a female voice speaks directly to Carl, asking forgiveness for what she did.
