James and Carl investigate the whereabouts of John Harley Matheson, one of the five Kindred that helped Sarah Cobbler with her "experiment".
They meet with Natasha Preston, who can give them several informations about John Harley. The night after, they drive to his mansion out of town.
John Harley behaves as a gentleman, and James is able to obtain some clues about Sarah, and also the possible location of Lucas Gates, another one of the five Kindred. Unfortunately, John Harley's habit of still keeping afro-american slaves stirs the remaining morality of Carl, who frees the slaves and escapes with them.
The ancient Kindred is not amused, and orders James to bring them all back, or face the consequences.
